FAQ

Do tattoos hurt?
Yes, getting a tattoo involves some level of pain, as a needle is repeatedly puncturing your skin. However, the level of pain is subjective and depends on your pain tolerance and the location of the tattoo. Areas with more muscle and fat tend to hurt less than bony areas or places with thin skin. You will survive!

How much does a tattoo cost?
The price of a tattoo varies depending on several factors, including the size and complexity of the design, the location on the body, and if colors is used. The shop walk in minimum is $100, while appointments have a $200 minimum. Prices will vary for one shot tattoos so please let me know a budget if you have one. I try to work with everyone on what they can afford to get them the best tattoo possible! Large, mutiple session, work is $200/hr until the process is done.

What should I do to prepare for my tattoo appointment?
Before your appointment, make sure you're well-rested, hydrated, and have eaten a good meal. Avoid drinking alcohol or taking blood-thinning medications for at least 24 hours beforehand. Wear comfortable clothing that gives the artist easy access to the area you're getting tattooed. If you are feeling ill it’s best to stay home.

Can I use a numbing cream?
No. I do not like to use numbing cream while tattooing. There are too many factors to control in these products and I want you to get the best tattoo possible. I tattoo very quickly and efficiently (not heavy handed at all!) so the tattooing and healing process is as easy as it can be. If we need to break your tattoo up into multiple sessions I am more than happy to schedule that for you. You will never be forced to finish a whole tattoo in one sitting if you feel uncomfortable.

How do I take care of my new tattoo?
Please see the AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
-
Can I go swimming after getting a tattoo?
No. You should avoid swimming in pools, lakes, hot tubs, the bath, or the ocean for at least 2 weeks, as it can introduce bacteria to the open wound and lead to infection. Soaking the tattoo can also pull out ink and damage the design.
-
Is it normal for my tattoo to peel and flake?
Yes, it is completely normal and a sign of the tattoo healing. It will look similar to a sunburn peeling. Do not pick or scratch at the peeling skin, as this can pull out ink and cause damage.
